Who is wise?

Our Bible reading for this week will be in Psalm 107-111. We’ve covered quite a bit through the Psalms. Throughout the Psalms we have been reminded about pouring out our hearts to God. We are to come before Him with fear and reverence along with confidence.
The Psalms remind us about the power and love of God. When we find ourselves distressed, confused, afraid, or hurt, like King David and others we need to turn to God. We need to be reminded of God’s great majesty and wisdom. While it has been a while since we read Psalm 1, remember what David said: “How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, nor stand in the path of sinners, nor sit in the seat of scoffers! But his delight is in the Law of the LORD, and in His law he meditates day and night.” Our lives will be blessed when we delight in God’s word!
Christians should meditate on the Holy Scriptures. We are to fill our minds with things that are true, honorable, right, pure, lovely, good repute, excellent, and worthy of praise (Philippians 4:8). The easiest way to do this is to consider God and His Son Jesus Christ.
Our Bible reading takes us to Book Five of the Psalms. Notice what is said at the end of each of the sections in the book of Psalms.
· Book One: (Psalm 41:13): “Blessed be the LORD, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting. Amen and Amen.”
· Book Two: (Psalm 72:18-19): “Blessed be the LORD God, the God of Israel, who alone works wonders. And blessed be His glorious name forever; And may the whole earth be filled with His glory. Amen, and Amen. The prayers of David the son of Jesse are ended.”
· Book Three: (Psalm 89:52): “Blessed be the LORD forever! Amen and Amen.”
· Book Four: (Psalm 106:48): “Blessed be the LORD, the God of Israel, from everlasting even to everlasting. And let all the people say, “Amen.” Praise the LORD!”
· Book Five: (Psalm 150:6): “Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Praise the LORD!”
The Psalms remind us of where our focus should be: ON GOD! Let us Praise Him!
As you read this week, consider these thoughts.
· (Psalm 107:43): The psalmist says, “Who is wise? Let him give heed to these things and consider the lovingkindness of the LORD.” What does this chapter teach us about the loving kindness (faithful love, steadfast love, loving deeds) of God?
· (Luke 24:44): “Now He said to them, ‘These are My words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things which are written about Me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled.’” As you read this week, what might we learn about Christ? As you read Psalm 110 take some time to consider the book of Hebrews.
Let us be Wise this week and consider the faithful love of our great God!
